About Lines of the Dragon & Our Sponsors
This website always has been and always will be dedicated to everything that takes the path less traveled in life and the lessons learned through that journey. It started out as just my personal online journal and grew with a small but dedicated following. Anything I think the world in general may find intersting I try to make available online. Now though, I've made upgrades to the site that allow you, the community at large, to contribute your findings as well. You can share your interests and information with the world at large and help us all create one large information hub for folks like us. For those of you who have been coming here for years a few things are obvious. We have a slick new layout, quite a bit more content has been added recently and a buttload of features have been added.
New Features:
- Visitors can now setup their own personal profiles complete with avatars
- Discussion forums to ask questions of authors and other visitors
- Visitors can now submit web links and even their own articles and essays for everyone to read
- Articles and essays can now be rated / voted on and you can provide feedback and additional information / comments of your own at the bottom of the page
- You can send instant messages to anyone signed up on the site
- You can see a user list of anyone signed up on the site who wishes to provide that information (optional). Great way to meet folks with your interests.
- Recommend Us has now been added so you can tell others about the site very easily
- Lines of the Dragon (LotD) store has been added.
- Controlled advertising has been added.
- More is on the way, check back often.

The store is a direct partnership with Amazon.com. They provide the store interface and they handle the transactions and I get a % of the profits. You get the great quality service, support and security of Amazon.com and I get to hand-pick the quality products that I feel will be valuable to you. If you know of a book or other product that should be added to the store please let me know and I will be more than happy to see about adding it. I’m all for spreading the word on great products and helpful websites.
Ok, but what’s up with the advertising?
Good question. Everything in the world costs money. It costs money to bring you this website, my time to type this information up and to do research on articles. The research I would be doing for myself anyway, but I like to provide a service to the community where I can by providing that research to you. Lately I’ve really tried to go above and beyond what I feel most other folks would do in that area to bring you added value through the website. I really want to turn this website into a central information hub for everyone in life who decided to take the path less traveled. That will take $ and the advertising and the store help me do that.
You will now notice that there are advertising banners on every page. I have made agreements with vendors that let me strictly control what products are offered. I don’t want just anything thrown up there. I want stuff you might actually find interesting and that I would use myself. You will not see random crap appearing just to get your attention. Everything you see there should have a direct relevance to the website and hopefully something you will have a genuine interest in. I will never advertise for a product or company that I do not personally believe in. That is my commitment to you. All of the advertising on the site is known as “affiliate advertising” which means if you decide to make a purchase through any of the links / banners or through the store I get a small % of the profit from the vendor. It costs you absolutely nothing to do this and it supports the site and the community because those resources will be poured right back into the website project. Remember than when you’re considering making a purchase. As with all things in life, your actions touch everyone around you. J
How can you help?
Write an article or an essay on a topic that is important to you or submit a link you think others will find useful. You can do this under the User Menu once you have registered and signed in.
Use the banners on the website to buy products from Amazon or from other vendors featured.
Patronize the LotD store when you plan on purchasing books. Let me know if there’s a great book or other product on amazon.com that is not included in the store. I will be happy to add it to the sore and even feature your review it you care to write one.
If you know of a product on the market that is not offered through the online store or you don’t see a banner for contact me with the product information and I will certainly see about offering their products through the website. If someone has a great product out there that we should all know about I want to help spread the word.
